A resident of Alaska for over 30 years, artist Ellen West was trained at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, California. Ellen began making jewelry in 1974, having taken a class in jewelry fabrication where she was introduced to the method of lost wax casting. Birds of Denali original pencil drawing by Randall Compton. Framed triptych is 58 inches long and 27 inches tall. Each drawing-- a Gyrfalcon, a Golden Eagle, and a Peregrine Falcon-- is signed and dated. The complete piece is titled, on a brass plaque. The picture is on display at the ABO Center for Education & Research. $3,900 with the commission going to ABO.
