Alaska Bird Observatory

Help the ABO Building Fund

Alaska Bird Observatory has a new home! Thanks to Fountainhead Development and our generous volunteers, we have a beautiful new, energy-efficient facility more accommodating to staff and visitors.

ABO kicked off a $150,000 fundraising campaign in July 2001 to fully outfit the facility, set up the gift shop, purchase interpretive displays, and cover initial operating expenses. ABO needs a lot of things to equip the facility, including computers, books, a shed, appliances, interpretive exhibits, audio-visual equipment, and operating funds.

You can help. Your tax-deductible contribution to the fundraising campaign can help provide ABO's new home with the resources it needs to truly be the "ABO Center for Education & Research." If you want to make a charitable donation, you can

Each gift of over $250 will receive recognition on ABO's donor wall in the new building, which features ceramic bird tiles designed by Fairbanks artist Nancy Hausle-Johnson. Donors giving $1,000 or more are listed on an 8x8" tile; two donors per tile are listed for gifts of $500-$999; while contributors giving $250-$499 are listed with 8-10 other donors. Major donors giving $10,000+ will be featured on wooden bird scuptures designed by Marcia Burnside. To guarantee your name on ABO's wall of birds, please make your contribution or pledge by December 31, 2002.

Thanks for your continuing help!
