Black-capped Chickadee

This feisty bird stays in Fairbanks for the winter and will eat sunflower seeds from feeders. You may see them with bent tails during the winter because they spend the night in small holes to keep warm.
Description: Black cap and bib and white cheeks. The back and belly are grey and the wings are slightly darker.
Food: seeds.
Habitat: mixed forest habitats.
Winter: Does not migrate.
